Cader FieldOps Demo

Try the FieldOps app

The engineer's side: jobs, surveys, photos, signal readings, speed tests, call-out charges and reports. This demo version is filled with made-up jobs and is connected to the demo dashboard, so a job you assign to "You (demo app)" there turns up on your phone within a minute.

Download

The demo app is coming soon. In the meantime the demo dashboard is all there to try.

What to try

  • Open a job and tap I'm on site, then work through the survey steps, taking photos as you go.
  • On a call-out, check the Charge step: it works out the bill from the time on site, emergency or evening rates and parts used.
  • Run the speed test and log some 4G signal readings.
  • Finish a job to see the PDF report it makes.
  • On the demo dashboard, book a job, assign it to You (demo app), and watch it arrive on the phone.

Photos you take stay on your phone. They aren't sent to the demo.

Installing it

Apps from outside the Play Store need a couple of extra taps, and Android shows a few warnings. They're normal for any app installed this way.

  1. Tap Download.Chrome may say the file "might be harmful". Tap Download anyway.
  2. Open the file.Tap Open when it finishes, or find fieldops-demo.apk in your Downloads.
  3. Allow installs from Chrome.Android says it isn’t allowed to install unknown apps from this source. Tap Settings, turn on "Allow from this source", then go back.
  4. Tap Install. If Google Play Protect says the app is unrecognised or unsafe, tap More details, then Install anyway. It says that because the app isn’t from the Play Store, not because anything’s wrong with it.
  5. Open FieldOps Demo.It signs into the demo by itself and loads the jobs. Allow location and notifications if you want to try the map and reminders.

To remove it later, press and hold the FieldOps Demo icon and tap Uninstall. You can turn "Allow from this source" back off in Settings, Apps, Chrome.
